Maniangles makes graphic tees about the strange little things that make us human: the route you always take, the spoon that's somehow better than the identical ones next to it, the thought that made perfect sense yesterday, the shape of the space between two people.
Some of our designs are a single dry sentence. Some are geometry and color with no words at all. All of them start with something worth noticing.
Every tee is printed to order on a soft Bella+Canvas 3001 and shipped from print partners in the US or the EU, depending on where you are.
Meet Ellis
Most of our ideas start with Ellis.
Ellis isn't a real person. He's a fictional character we created to be the creative voice of Maniangles: someone with a slightly unreasonable interest in how people behave. He notices the small rules people live by, forms a theory about them, gets distracted, drops the theory, and every so often turns what's left into a T-shirt.
He has one name, no face and no life story, and that's on purpose. Ellis is a way of looking at things, not a founder, and he doesn't answer questions about orders. That part is all us.
I've been thinking about something.
People keep good boxes. Not for anything in particular. Just in case the right thing comes along to go inside. I tried to work out what the right thing would be, and noticed I'd started keeping one too.
Some people take the same route every day. Others make a point of never taking it twice. I had a theory about both. The theory needs work.
I don't have many answers yet. Every answer so far has arrived with two new questions, which seems like a fair trade.
